There is a growing trend for buying goods over the internet. This is a consumer trend that has changed the way we shop to drastic levels. Since the explosion of Ebay and other shop online web sites over the past ten years, consumers have increased confidence in spending their money over the internet. |  | Consumers are buying everything on the internet. Their food shopping, clothes, holidays, books and even cars. The key reason for this is flexibility. The internet is open 24 hours a day every day and this immediately reduces the stress and pressure of having to get anywhere before a particular closing time. People with hectic working lives can especialy benefit from this. Shopping online reduces stress and is a much calmer way to browse and buy. There is no need to get stuck in frustrating trafic jams and no need to get pushed around by crowds of other shoppers. |
| When shopping on the internet, the consumer is not under pressure to make any decision there and then. How many times have you felt under pressure to buy an item of clothing in a shop? You either buy it and regret it or don't buy it and regret it! When shopping on the internet you can browse and think at your leisure, there is no time restriction or pushy sales assistant. You know you can buy it at the touch of a button but you are not under any pressure to do so.
Buying online is so convenient. Increasingly, people with children are shopping on the net for luxuries such as fashion. Lets face it, you can't shop or try anything on when you have a young child pulling at you legs. Likewise, people with busy working lives are using the internet more than ever. The only chance you get to go to the shops is on your one day off, and i'm pretty sure you would rather relax at home than go to a busy high street on that day. People with mobility problems are also increasingly using the internet. Shopping online gives people the freedom to browse and buy without the hassle of having to go to a shopping arcade that has poor facilities.

| The internet is changing society as we know it. More and more people are shopping online. It is convenient, puts you under no pressure, reduces wasted time and is safe. We are not quite as advanced as the Japanese who are now buying clothes on their mobile phones, but we can certainly reep the benefits that online shopping has to offer.
If you make use of the world of services, information and e-shops there is on the internet, then next time you have a spare day you can go for a day trip or do something outdoors instead of going to the local shopping mall only to come home stressed, angry and tired! |  |
