The James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer is the UK’s leading specialist kidney cancer charity. It seeks to help reduce the harm caused by kidney cancer by increasing knowledge and awareness, providing patient information and by supporting research into the causes, prevention and treatment of the disease.

| Why is Coconut Hut involved?
The organisers of this fun and charitable event have decided that competitors should not only be wearing heels - But that they should also be wearing Funky Leg Warmers.
Coconut Hut has been asked to be the main supplier of Leg Warmers for the event and the organisers have asked that we make it possible for competitors to make a charity donation at the point at which they purchase their Leg Warmers.
To make a voluntary charity donation to the James Whale fund for Kidney Cancer - simply add 'The James Whale fund for Kidney Cancer charity donation' listing to your shopping cart along with your chosen Leg Warmers. This is located at the very bottom of the Leg Warmers page (below the next day delivery listing).
All competitors are asked to do this in support of the charity and of the event so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do this and help to raise as much money as possible! A couple of extra pounds from everybody really does make a difference. And if you have just come accross this by chance and are not involved in the event in any way, then you are also more than welcome to make this charity donation too!
The James Whale fund for Kidney Cancer has recommended that all competitors add a minimum charity donation of £1.00 per pair of Leg Warmers purchased. Therefore if for example you purchase three pairs PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do make sure you add a charity donation equal to at least £3.00 (by simply clicking on the donation 3 times or changing the quantity to 3).
You can of course donate more if you wish... the more the better!

Want to make savings? If you want to save on postage costs you could get together with others in the event and make a group purchase. By doing this you can also take advantage of our current Leg Warmers offer where you buy three and save 50% on the third pair. This will save you a couple of pounds meaning you could potentialy increase your charity donation by a couple of pounds too.

The aim of the High Heels, High Hopes Run is for competitors to experience for a few seconds what it is like to walk in someone else’s shoes while raising money for the Fund.
The Run seeks to raise awareness of the kidney cancer at the same time as raising funds for the charity. The run will be on Wind Street in Swansea at 7pm on Friday 4 September and we are looking to make the event as glamorous and as attractive as possible for participants.
For this first event we are looking for no more than 100 entrants. There will be prizes for the winner of the race, for the best pair of shoes and for the person who raises the most money through sponsorship.
There will also be a glamour competition, with prizes for the fastest, best dressed shoes and person who has raised the most money.
The entry fee is £12 - all welcome (men and women!) To secure your place in the field of 100 runners, make contact with Joanne Popham Community Development Officer for the Fund in Wales, as soon as possible.
