Coconut Hut is a UK based independent fashion e-boutique, selling colourful clothing and accessories to funky people like you! We have a psychedelic holiday feel about us, we love palm trees and pina coladas and want you to feel totally relaxed when shopping with us. We are a home based enterprise and care a lot about every aspect of the business. Customer satisfaction is a top priority of ours.
By shopping in an independent boutique you are supporting independent retailers and designers, as well as making a stand against the corporate giants on the high street. The corporate giants have virtualy taken over all aspects of retail, and have in the process pushed out all individuality and squashed the smaller businesses down. With such a high volume of un-ethical mass production taking place in the Far East, one of the few things you can do do be ethical these days, is to shop independent.

 | Making a purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Browse our store and add items you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have made your selection go to the Checkout and fill in the required fields.
Please pay special attention when you fill in your billing address. This should be entered exactly as it appears on your card statement and should not be confused with your delivery address. If you enter the wrong billing address or make a spelling mistake our card processing facility will consider your transaction as fraudulent and you will encounter delays. We are only pointing this out because so many customers make this mistake.

Once you have filled in the required fields on our site you will be transfered to the HSBC Secure Epayments Gateway where they will take your money on our behalf. You also have the option to pay with your credit or debit card via Paypal. We accept all major cards. Payment is online only. We do not accept orders over the phone. If you are shopping from overseas, place your order as usual and your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency.

 | Delivery information We usually get our orders out within a matter of days and most of the time your order will be despatched on the same or following day. However, made to order items can take a bit longer.
If you need something quickly then we do have a next day delivery service. For information on this please view our Frequently Asked Questions page. This service is only available with off the shelf items, not made to order items.
If your deadline is not that immediate but there is never the less still an important deadline - Then it is still advised to let us know this in your (via email or in your shipping note) just in case there are any problems with the item being in stock. If you are in any doubt just email. We can usually help, and are more than willing to do what we can to get you the item by the date you require it.
Many of our products are made to order. So when you purchase an item, it is made or sourced at that point. If an item is out of stock or needs making then it cannot be despatched immediately. nce ready for shipping, your package is dispatched via first class recorded delivery in the UK and international signed for post for everywhere else in the world. Although we can accept no liability for postage times, UK delivery time is approx 1-2 working days whilst international delivery time is approx 7-18 days (varying depending on the country).
Although we usually get our items made or sourced within 1-3 days you must notify us prior to ordering if you need something for a specific date. This way we can be better equiped to meet the dealine. We are reluctant to accept claims for refunds from customers claiming an item was not received in time, when we had no prior knowledge of the urgency. You should ideally email us first with any enquiries. It is very unlikely that you will have to wait more than a few working days for an item to reach you in the UK, but in some cases this is possible. If you are unsure about any of these details then please email us your enquiry and we will be more than happy to help.
The cost of delivery will automaticaly be worked out at the checkout. We use Royal Mail's 1st class 'Recorded Delivery' service for the UK and 'International Signed For' for the rest of the world. Postage for certain items may very depending on size and weight.
Customs Fees: Please be aware that when ordering from overseas, your country may charge you a customs fee depending on the value of the item you have purchased. This fee varies from country to country. Whilst some countries only charge if your item is worth over £250, others have a much lower cut off point. Please bear this in mind when purchasing from overseas and remember that this fee is nothing to do with us!

 | Returns You must contact us within 14 days of receiving your package to be considered for any exchange or refund. Items must be unworn and where possible still tagged.
We will happily exchange items when customers feel they have ordered the wrong size or colour of an item. In most circumstances customers returning items may be able to choose alternative products of the same value. Please email us prior to purchase if you have any queries regarding size.
If you need something for a specific date please contact us first to see if this is possible rather than ordering at short notice and then wanting a refund if it does not turn up in time. We can usually help, and are more than willing to do what we can to get you the item by the date you require it but you need to let us know this date for us to be able to help.

 | Colour We endeavour to portray as exactly as possible the correct colours of products in our images. If you need specific tones for any clothing or accessory item then you are advised to email first to confirm what you see in the picture, as we will not be able to give you a refund. We will always send you the colour you have ordered, but you must be willing to accept that the item's colour may vary slightly from the image you see on your computer screen. We use image editing software to get the item in the picture to look as close as possible to the colour it is, however, these colours can vary dramaticaly depending on your screen settings, whether you have a flat screen or not, the lighting in your work room and of course your computers graphic card and image viewing capabilities. |

 | Problems ordering Do you currently work on a networked computer or have a filter of some kind? Then you are likely have problems ordering online. Unfortunately, the standard child filters available do have very negative implications on ecommerce systems. Those of you working on a networked computer are also seriously disadvantaged when it comes to interacting with ecommerce systems and ordering online in a normal way.

 | Filters Not only do filters block your child from viewing nasties, they also seriously affect the way you use the internet. They allow for very little transmission of information between you and any site. They seriously affect your ability to buy products online. This is because they do not distinguish between porn sites and perfectly acceptable shop online sites.
If you do have one of these filters, we suggest that you first try ordering as usual. You never know, it may work fine. However, if you get to the payment section and suddenly you cannot pay! Then it is likely to be because of your filter. We suggest that you temporarily disable it. You may also be able to customize your filter, and tell it which your trusted IP addresses are. Failing that, you will have to find another computer. |

 | Networks Are you working on a networked computer, perhaps from a workplace environment? Then you too will almost certainly have problems ordering online. Employers do not want their staff to be using work computers for personal reasons and therefore block you from interacting with ecommerce systems and therefore ordering online.
Computers on networks generally do not allow you to access information from secure sites such as those where you enter your card details. This is why you are likely to get as far as placing the order on the coconut-hut site but the moment you are transferred to HSBC you will be cut off and prevented from paying. We suggest you order from home. |

 | Cookies Cookies play a very important role in shopping carts. Without them, shopping online would be impossible as they are the carriers of information. They tell the checkout which items you have chosen and enable you to perform basic tasks on the internet. However, because cookies carry this temporary information it is a good idea to clear your cookies from time to time because they can carry conflicting information. For example if you go to a site and click buy on an item but dont actualy buy it, you could go back to that site a week later and the cookie will remember which item you had clicked on before.
If you are having a difficult time placing an order you can delete all your cookies and try again. It is like starting from scratch again as far as your computer is concerned.
